Schutzund/IGP

Schutzhund was originally designed to assess the breed of German Shepherd Dogs for overall character, work ethic, and nerve. Initially a test exclusively for the GSD, it eventually became an aptitude test for all working breeds. We are a DVG and GSDCA sanctioned club that trains in Orinda, California and on Mare Island at Morton Filed in Vallejo. Our field is a stadium that can accommodate National events. We offer two trials annually and welcome all breeds. The Mid-Bay Working dog club is dedicated to protecting and preserving all working dog's temperament through sport.

IGP is considered the triathlon of dog training, consisting of three phases: tracking, obedience, and protection. Each is weighted equally in competition. The sport focuses on the relationship between dog and handler while simultaneously evaluating the traits of working animals.

DogMastery offers private sport training throughout the week and club environment training on the weekends. Whether you are preparing for a club, regional, national, or world event, DogMastery can help. Pack leader Marc Eric James has been selected to help with many Regional and National Championships throughout his career.
